Fleggaard optimizes warehouse and stores
Mobile printers have been installed on trucks and stackers at the central warehouse and PDAs have been installed in Fleggaard’s 17 stores to manage all goods registration – an upgrade that makes the overall business more competitive and efficient. The mobility frees up time for other tasks and provides a better overview for the individual employee.
When Fleggaard’s old handheld terminals were due for renewal, the management looked for some new updated models. The requirements included that the new handheld terminal/PDA should have a large screen that could give the user a better overview. It had to have a long battery life so that staff were not constantly interrupted to charge, and of course it had to be robust. Per Sørensen, Operations Manager for the Calle and Fleggaard chains, was in charge of the purchase and researched the market to find the right PDA for the job.
– After scouring the market, I was left with three relevant PDAs. However, I chose the PM80 from Delfi Technologies because it fulfilled all the required features optimally and it was also competitively priced. In the PM80, we have a large screen so staff don’t have to strain to work with it. It has a long service life, which means greater efficiency, and it’s robust – which is needed when working in our environment,” says Per Sørensen, who has purchased 116 PM80s for the Fleggaard and Calle stores.
